 Industry Speaker

Dennis Oates, DBA, MBA is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Supply Chain Management at Marquette University and a logistics executive with more than 30 years of experience in parcel, transportation, e-commerce, and supply chain operations.

Early in his career, Dennis worked for the United States Postal Service as an industrial engineer at the Gary, Indiana Remote Encoding Center and the Chicago Central Processing and Distribution Center. That early experience gave him firsthand insight into the scale, complexity, and operational importance of the USPS network.

Dennis later worked with USPS from several additional perspectives across the parcel ecosystem. During his time at FedEx, he held leadership roles in postal operations, transportation, engineering, and network planning, including work connected to the long-standing FedEx-USPS partnership. At Amazon, Dennis led large-scale sortation operations in North America and Europe, where USPS was an important partner in supporting customer delivery and network execution. Later, as Chief Logistics Officer and Strategic Advisor at Sendle, Dennis helped build parcel solutions that relied on strong carrier partnerships, including USPS, to serve small businesses and e-commerce shippers.
